Born from Academic Excellence Celtic Terahertz Technology was established in the heart of Wales, built upon a foundation of over three decades of world-class academic research. Our roots run deep within the rigorous discipline of the Astronomy Instrumentation Group (AIG) at Cardiff University. We are not just a technology company; we are a collective of physicists, engineers, and visionaries dedicated to mastering the Terahertz spectrum—the last unexplored frontier of the electromagnetic spectrum.
Before we turned our sensors toward the human body, we turned them toward the stars. Our core technologies—including proprietary metal-mesh filters and ultra-sensitive Kinetic Inductance Detectors (KIDs)—share a lineage with the instruments used in historic space missions like ESA’s Planck and Herschel. We have spent years engineering optics that can survive the vacuum of space and detect the faintest signals from the cosmic dawn.
